LIME Connection II
The LIME Connection II which was held at the University of New South Wales in Sydney on 23-25 September 2007 was an event of the Medical Deans Indigenous Health Project. Auspice organisations included the Medical Deans of Australia and New Zealand (Medical Deans) and the Australian Indigenous Doctors Association (AIDA). The conference was proudly hosted by the Faculty of Medicine and Muru Marri Indigenous Health Unit at University of New South Wales (UNSW).
The Connection was co-sponsored by the Department of Health and Ageing, and co-hosted by The University of Sydney, University of Western Sydney, University of Wollongong, and The University of Newcastle.
The conference theme was: "Cultures Across the Indigenous Health Spectrum: Achieving better outcomes" and leaders in the field of Indigenous medical education and practice presented their experiences and shared innovative approaches through a mix of keynote addresses, oral and poster presentations, group discussions and a public lecture.
This event provided the opportunity to meet and network with others in the field of Indigenous medical education and practice. The conference attracted over 140 delegates from Australia, as well as international speakers and guests. Delegates included medical educators, practitioners, allied health workers, community representatives and anybody with a connection to Indigenous health.
