LIME Connection

The LIME Connection is a conference with attendees and contributors from across the LIME Network. It is held every two years.

LIME Connection I

The LIME Connection was first held on 8-10 June 2005 in Fremantle. The goals of the first LIME Connection were to build capacity within medical schools by supporting the implementation of the CDAMS Indigenous Heath Curriculum Framework, as well as initiatives in student recruitment, support and retention.

LIME Connection II

The LIME Connection II which was held at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, on 23-25 September 2007 was an event of the Medical Deans Indigenous Health Project, which is based at the Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit at The University of Melbourne. Auspicing organisations are the Medical Deans of Australia and New Zealand (Medical Deans) and the Australian Indigenous Doctors Association (AIDA). The conference was proudly hosted by the Faculty of Medicine and Muru Marri Indigenous Health Unit at University of New South Wales (UNSW).

The Connection was co-sponsored by the Department of Health and Ageing, and is co-hosted by; The University of Sydney, University of Western Sydney, University of Wollongong, and The University of Newcastle.

The conference theme was: "Cultures across the Indigenous health spectrum: achieving better outcomes" and leaders in the field of Indigenous medical education and practice presented their experiences and shared innovative approaches through a mix of keynote addresses, oral and poster presentations, group discussions and a public lecture.

This  event presented an opportunity to meet and network with others in the fields of Indigenous medical education and practice. The conference attracted over 140 delegates from Australia, as well as international speakers and guests. Delegates included medical educators, practitioners, allied health workers, community representatives and anybody with a connection to Indigenous health.
